Penelope has been shooting t Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides in the West Indies, and her growing baby bump has increased the speculation.
The star's agent has released a statement confirming she and Javier are to become parents.
"Penelope Cruz is four-and-a-half months pregnant. At the moment she is on her way to London where the filming of Pirates of the Caribbean 4 is almost finished," it said.
Penelope has spoken of her desire to be a mother in the past, saying: "When I [have babies], I want to do it really well. I want it to be my best project in life. I believe in family, love and children."
